Our Suggested Itinerary - Explore a past Aujo Travel trip for your next adventure

We will start the tour at Latrun, a place of fascinating historical importance at the strategic point connecting Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

From our meeting point, we will travel to Canada Park - a beautiful park covering an area of 12,000 dunams, which we will explore with a drive that will take us to a beautiful observation point overlooking the Ayalon Valley. Here, we will hear the story of Joshua and his battle against the southern kings at a vulnerable point overlooking a lookout where significant battles throughout history, particularly those of the Maccabees against the Greeks, took place.

We will continue on Highway 38, which sits on an important historical route where many archaeological remains tell the story of the area. Our first observation point in the Beit Shemesh area will be at Tel Beit Shemesh, where we will hear the story of the Ark of the Covenant and its capture by the Philistines and its return through Nahal Sorek, from where we will look back at the Israelites residing in Beit Shemesh.

From here, we will ascend and drive to a local winery overlooking Tel Azeka, where we will gaze upon the Sorek Valley and the many seasonal ponds scattered among the kibbutz fields. Here, we will listen to the story of the biblical figure, Samson, try to understand his controversial character, and have the opportunity to purchase quality wine (not for drivers...) and local cheeses to enhance the experience. After the tour and wine tasting at the winery, we will continue to our last stop, Tel Azekah.

At Tel Azekah, we will climb to the highest observation point on the hill and hear the famous story of David and Goliath against the backdrop of the magnificent view of the Elah Valley below us.

To conclude the biblical experience, we will continue the tour to Tel Lachish. Tel Lachish is an ancient city from the Biblical period, the second most fortified city in the Kingdom of Judah, and is mentioned in the Bible as one of the cities fortified by King Rehoboam. During the tour of Tel Lachish, you will be able to visit its impressive remains, see the "Tree of Devils" - a mysterious tree full of legends and stories, view the 44-meter-deep well, wander through the enchanting garden, and finally, enjoy a beautiful view of the vineyards, orchards, and wheat fields. From here, we will return back.
