Our tour will begin at the Stef Nature Reserve, an abandoned Arab village in the outskirts of Jerusalem. We will hear the story of the village, which was forced to evacuate in 1948, then we'll take a short tour in the beautiful nature and relax at the renovated pool, which now serves as a water source for the flourishing agriculture developed in the area.
From there, we'll proceed to the Ein Karem neighborhood (where we tasted a bit), strolling through the picturesque alleys while learning about the neighborhood's stories and secrets. We'll hear (again, for those who missed it) the story of Marziano's grocery store. We'll explore the spring in depth and understand how it gave life to the entire neighborhood. Then, we'll visit the Visitation Church on the hill and learn about its historical significance. We'll continue through a beautiful garden located in the Monastery of the Sisters of Zion and hear the story of the apostate Jew Ratisbon and the orphanage on-site. From there, we'll move to the St. John Church in the mountains and hear about the archaeological remains from the Second Temple period discovered in the church's basement.
Of course, we won't miss the beautiful view of the "Muscovia" Church and hear the story of Fedorovna Elizabeth and the connection between the light rail, Putin, and Tsar Nicholas. And all of this in the beautiful Ein Karem.
