Our tour will start in the historic Djemaa El Fna Square and continue to one of the unique squares in the world: the Jemaa El Fna Square. Here, every evening, it comes to life with jugglers, snake charmers, local stand-up comedians, and dozens of food stalls offering a variety of delights. After this exciting experience, we will travel to Riad, a local authentic guesthouse, for overnight accommodation.
Day 5 | Marrakech
In the morning, after the brief taste we had yesterday, we will delve deeper into the streets of Marrakech. We will explore the ancient alleys of Marrakech, starting with the small streets of the city. We will hear the fascinating story of the city's Jewish community and enter a palace dedicated to the concubine of one of the Saadian dynasty officials in the ancient capital of Marrakech. We will stroll through the wide courtyards of the palace and the living rooms, and then continue to have a Moroccan lunch in one of the city's restaurants. For dessert, we will visit the picturesque markets of the city to roam the merchant streets and, for dessert, return to the square that never gets boring, Jemaa El Fna Square.
Day 6 | Marrakech - The Atlantic Ocean - Essaouira
In the morning, we will leave Marrakech on our way to the beautiful coastal city of Essaouira. Here, in the Atlantic coastal city with Portuguese heritage, we will begin our visit with a local women's cooperative processing the argan tree nuts, producing a variety of cosmetics. Perhaps we will be lucky enough to see the goats climbing the trees. From here, we will enter the beautiful beach city and go on a sunset tour of the picturesque city walls. We will explore the port and its seafood restaurants, then climb the city walls from where we will have a stunning view of the picturesque city and the thousands of seagulls swirling over the abundance of fish coming from the Atlantic Ocean. We will watch the breathtaking sunset and return to our hotel for overnight accommodation.
Day 7 | Essaouira as beautiful as a picture
In the morning, we will have time to wander through the old streets of Essaouira. If we want to learn about the city's Jewish history, we can find ourselves guided by a local guide touring the Jewish cemetery and hearing the story of the Pinto family and the city's Jewish history. We will also see the local synagogue, which was an important Jewish center in Morocco during the 20th century. If we wish, we can stop and relax on Essaouira's beach, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and have a light drink on the beach, a routine that can only be broken if we want to stroll through the port city and eat fish or seafood that has just arrived from the neighboring port. We can also choose to take a memorable camel ride, an unforgettable experience that will be timed for a wonderful sunset on the Atlantic Ocean beach.
Day 8 | Essaouira
On our last day, we will leave Essaouira for Marrakech. In Marrakech, we will enter one of the special shops in the city: Hassan Filali's spice shop. We will learn about the traditions of natural healing methods based on the research of Maimonides, which are still used today. From here, we will continue to one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the world, the Majorelle Gardens, designed by the French painter Jacques Majorelle. The last hours before the flight will be dedicated to a final free time to bid farewell to the wonderful Morocco and its beautiful markets before boarding the plane that will take us back to Tel Aviv.
