Day 1 | Bishkek - Burana Tower - Chon Kemin
In the morning, we will land at Manas International Airport, located near Bishkek, where we will meet our vehicles and drivers who will accompany us throughout the journey. Already on our way from the airport towards Bishkek, we will be impressed by the picturesque Tian Shan mountain range that unfolds before our eyes. After a good breakfast, we will organize ourselves and set off on an eastward journey along the Chu River on one of the main roads in Kyrgyzstan. We will stop at the impressive and mysterious site of the Burana Tower, telling the story of the Silk Road that crossed the vastness of Central Asia. The ancient city of Balasagun, where the tower is located, served as the capital for the local Karakhanid tribes until the arrival of the Mongolian tribes. We will continue along the Chu River, the border river with Kazakhstan, and in the late afternoon, we will head towards the gates of the mountains and enter a small and charming hotel in the village of Chon Kemin. After settling into our rooms, we can engage in light activities in the nearby nature.
Day 2 | Chon Kemin - Issyk Kul Lake
In the morning, we will set off towards Issyk Kul Lake, the "Blue Eye" of Kyrgyzstan and a source of pride. It is the second-highest alpine lake in the world, situated at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level. We will travel along its northern shores, where many hotels and resorts are located, popular mainly with visitors from the north - Kazakhstan and Russia. Later in the day, we will enter and explore two wonderful canyons that will lead us to the upper plains where the Nomad Games festival takes place. We will combine walks, picnics, and activities in the lap of nature. In the afternoon, we will return to the main road that surrounds the lake and continue towards the magnificent town of Karakol - the administrative center of Issyk Kul Lake, which also sits by the lake.
Day 3 | Day in Altin Arshan Canyon
Today, we will experience the Kyrgyz nature in all its glory. In the morning, we will climb with a 6X6 Russian off-road vehicle to the Altin Arshan Canyon, the "Golden River" flowing through an alpine canyon surrounded by peaks and glaciers and blessed with warm springs. We will combine a drive with walks in the enchanting landscape. From the highest vantage point, we will witness the "Kaktus Valley" before descending to the lower plains where yurts and simple wooden structures hidden in the groves house travelers who come here after a few days of trekking. Here, we can also soak together in the warm pools and enjoy a picnic crafted by our hands to be proud of.
Day 4 | Karakol - Jeti Oguz - Barskoon - Tamga
A long but memorable day is ahead of us. In the morning, we will enter the southern slopes of the Tian Shan range south of the lake. In the morning hours, we will visit the market of Karakol, and afterwards, we will say goodbye to the town that has served as our home, continuing towards the Jeti Oguz Canyon, the "Seven Bulls" canyon, whose red sandstone cliffs have been the basis for many legends and stories. We will ascend to an impressive viewpoint that will allow us to be impressed by all this beauty, and then continue along the canyon towards the Flower Valley, where yurts mostly host herds and also some yurts for travelers who come to enjoy the beauty of the area. We will embark on an enjoyable walking route, crawl with the local Kyrgyz tourists, brew our own field coffee, and inhale deeply the clear air around us. From the Seven Bulls Canyon, we will continue south along the southern shore of Issyk Kul Lake and enter the Barskoon Valley to get acquainted with an eagle hunting tower that will present us with the traditional hunting method passed down from generation to generation using a golden eagle. If time permits, we will ascend to the Komtor Range - a magical area surrounded by snow-capped peaks, glaciers, lakes, and streams at an altitude of about 4,000 meters. Towards the evening, we will reach the town of Tamga for accommodation and dinner.
Day 5 | Tamga – Kochkor – Naryn
This morning, we will embark on a westward journey along the southern shores of Lake Issyk-Kul. We start the day with a walk and a tour in the Valley of the Fairies – Skazka Canyon, characterized by colorful sand formations that create a mythical atmosphere. Continuing our journey along the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, we visit a village specializing in the production and construction of yurts. Of course, we'll try our hand at it as well. From here, we continue our drive through the picturesque mountainous road towards the town of Kochkor, where we will stay in a women's cooperative guest house dedicated to traditional handcrafts. This cooperative was established to empower the women of the village to earn a dignified living while preserving their traditional crafts. In the afternoon, we will head to the main road leading to the Naryn region and stay overnight in a hotel in the regional city.
Day 6 | Naryn – Song Kul
After breakfast, we explore the local market and then set out on a westward journey. We will cross the Dolon Pass, reaching an elevation of 3,030 meters. In the late afternoon, we will arrive at the pearl of Kyrgyzstan, the vast and remote Son Kul Lake – the last lake. This beautiful and secluded lake, surrounded by endless grasslands, is inhabited by roaming herds of horses, cows, yaks, sheep, and goats. We'll experience the beauty of the lake and its surroundings during our stay. Upon arrival, we embark on a walk to acquaint ourselves with this majestic place. In the evening, we gather in our yurt camp, connecting with Kyrgyz nomads and their families for an authentic and unforgettable experience. Before dispersing to our yurts for the night, we'll spend a sociable and experiential evening in the central yurt. The night will be spent in a traditional Kyrgyz yurt.
Day 7 | Song Kul – Kyzyl Oi
We wake up to the breathtaking beauty surrounding us and set out for another walk or horseback ride. Afterwards, we'll descend from the expansive grasslands of Lake Song Kul through the Kerege Tash Pass to the village of Chaek. We continue westward along the Kokomeren River, surrounded by stunning blue waters and mountains painted in vibrant red hues. After admiring the beautiful scenery, we proceed towards the fertile Suusamyr Valley, exploring the incredible mountainous trails. To conclude this special day, we will settle in the village of Kyzyl Oi, "the red bowl," for dinner and overnight accommodation in local homes.
Day 8 | Kyzyl Oi – Bishkek
In the morning, we share stories from the intimate encounters with our host families. We embark on a nature walk near the town and then travel along the Kokomeren River to the expansive Suusamyr Valley. Crossing the Tash Ashu Pass, we say goodbye to the towering peaks of the Tian Shan range as we descend on the northern side towards the capital of the mountainous country, Bishkek. Upon arrival, we explore the bustling Osh Bazaar, where we can find everything – Osh Bazaar. After organizing ourselves at the hotel, we venture out in the evening to discover the main squares and landmarks of Bishkek. In the evening, we celebrate the end of our special journey with a delightful Kyrgyz restaurant dinner and an unforgettable folkloric performance. Accommodation and dinner in Bishkek.
Day 9 | Bishkek
This morning, according to the flight schedule, we will transfer to the airport for our return flight.
