Karpathos Getaway: Local Tours and Folklore
The island of Karpathos, situated between Rhodes and Crete, is part of the scattered Dodecanese islands in the southern Aegean Sea. This small island, covering only 300 square kilometers, boasts beautiful scenic spots, wild nature, and an abundance of charming small villages. Its 6,000 inhabitants reside in twelve villages located at the foot of the central mountain near the beautiful beaches. During the summer months, the islanders engage in tourism, while towards winter, they return to their farming and agricultural fields. Some of them engage in fishing, mushroom and herb picking, and traditional handicrafts. During our active vacation, we will visit these villages, stroll through inviting streets, experiencing a journey through time, and explore the coastline stretching for over 100 kilometers, searching for the beautiful hidden beaches along the island's edge, which are wonderfully captured against the backdrop of the high and rugged ridges.
