Day 1 | Montenegro - Durmitor Reserve

Upon arrival, we'll meet our off-road vehicles and embark on a scenic drive through the city of Kotor (which we'll visit later in the journey...) towards the serpentine road overlooking the southernmost fjord in Europe - the Bay of Kotor. We'll stop at the village of Njeguši, known for its meat and cheese smoking industry and famous throughout the Balkans for its local prosciutto quality. From here, we'll continue our journey to Žabljak on the main road leading to the Durmitor Reserve, the highest mountain range in Montenegro. Here we'll stop for overnight accommodation and dinner.

Day 2 | Hikes and Views in the Durmitor Reserve

A magical day unfolds as we discover the most dramatic landscapes in Montenegro in the Durmitor Nature Reserve, which includes mountains, canyons, alpine vegetation, beech forests, glacial lakes, rushing rivers, waterfalls, and springs. We'll start the day with a hike in the beech forest around the stunning Black Lake. From here, we'll head north, cross passes and mountain passes at an altitude of 2000m, and climb to the highest pass in the Durmitor range, where we can see the brave eagle that crossed the ridge, leaving a dramatic and awe-inspiring trace. We'll continue to Tresnjevo and descend towards the Komarnica Canyon, where we'll travel on winding mountain roads with alpine views passing through high and isolated villages. We'll stop to admire the Nevidio Canyon (the hidden canyon) and return full of excitement from a busy day to our hotel in Žabljak.

Day 3 | River Tara Adventure Day - Uma above the river - Exhilarating Rafting

A true gem of an experience awaits us today! Shortly after breakfast, we'll head to the Tara Canyon and the impressive Partisan Bridge. After a brief orientation, we'll start pumping adrenaline with a thrilling ride on the crazy mountainous Uma connecting the walls of the huge canyon. To add adrenaline to our bodies, we'll cross the most famous bridge in Montenegro, Đurđevića Tara Bridge, standing at a height of 172 meters, and hear its story. After finishing our glide, we'll embark on a very wet adventure, thrilling rafting on the Tara River. We'll board the rafts and embark on a true adventure. The Tara River winds through a breathtakingly beautiful canyon. We'll navigate through rapids of moderate difficulty (grade 2-3). The rafting duration is about three hours. After a local lunch, we'll continue driving along the lower canyon of the river and pass through picturesque villages until we reach the entrance to the Biogradska Gora Nature Reserve. Here we'll stop for accommodation, and in the evening, we'll go out together to spend time at a local pub.

Day 4 | Eastern Montenegro - Plav - Bijelo Polje

This morning, we'll hop on our jeeps and begin a tour along Lake Plav, abundant with birds. From here, we'll embark on an intriguing route between picturesque villages, continuing to the border town of Gusinje, a beautiful and tranquil town. Mostly inhabited by Albanian descent residents, mostly Muslims. We'll have lunch in local homes and then drive towards the Biocic-Cherneh Pass and Komovi. Off-road driving along the ridge line through high summer villages and wide beech forests, off-road rides on the ridges' slopes, beautiful views, and gliding down to the picturesque ski town of Kolasin for accommodation.

Day 5 | Biogradska Gora Reserve

A stunning day ahead of us in the charming landscapes of the Biogradska Gora Reserve and Lake Biograd. In the morning, we'll head to the Biogradska Gora Reserve, home to over 60 different tree species and over 2000 species of plants and flowers. The reserve is dotted with numerous springs and waterways, most of which flow into the valley, filling Lake Biograd. We'll go for a leisurely hike in the park amidst the European forest scenery and reach the exposed alpine ridge, allowing views of the vast hand-preserved forest in the park. We'll circumnavigate the enchanting Lake Biograd with an easy hour-long walk, understanding what led King Nikola to declare the place a nature reserve back in 1887. At the end of the day, we'll return to our hotel in Kolasin.

Day 6 | Kolasin - Rijeka Crnojevića - Budva

This morning, we'll start a southbound journey through one of the narrowest canyons in the country, the Moraca Canyon. After a refreshing stop, we'll descend from the mountains on a scenic road and continue to the town of Rijeka Crnojevića. Upon reaching the town, we'll take a short tour of the enchanting town, followed by a boat ride on the Rijeka Crnojevića River passing right through the town. This river is part of the sources of Lake Skadar. We'll then continue with our jeeps to the town of Cetinje, the historical capital of Montenegro, visit the old promenade, and from there, ascend to Lovćen National Park, where we'll visit the mausoleum of Petar II Petrović-Njegoš, the last religious ruler and national hero of Montenegro. At the end of the visit, we'll continue to our hotel in the coastal town of Budva. Here in the evening, we'll go out to a local pub.

Day 7 | Bay of Kotor - The Fjord

This morning we'll head to Kotor, the largest city along the bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The old city was built in the 12th century and preserved its medieval charm thanks to its narrow and asymmetrical streets and beautiful squares. We'll stroll through the medieval city surrounded by an impressive wall, walking through alleys and getting to know the Venetian family palaces up close. After the tour of the town and the picturesque bay area, we'll head along the coastal road that will lead us to the "Dubrovnik of Montenegro" - the tourist town of Budva.
