Day 1 | Oslo (Norway)
Upon arrival, we embark on a panoramic tour of the city: we'll explore Akershus Fortress, visit the impressive City Hall building, and the Royal Palace. We'll continue with a visit to Bygdøy Peninsula, where we'll tour the Viking Ship Museum and hear their fascinating stories. Overnight and dinner in Oslo.
Day 2 | Oslo - Narvik - Kiruna
In the morning, we'll continue to tour the Norwegian capital city as much as time allows. We'll then take another domestic flight to Narvik, located in the northern part of Norway, away from the beaten tourist path. Upon arrival, we'll travel across the border to Sweden. Upon arrival in Sweden, we'll continue along the Torne River, where we will spend our upcoming days of ice adventures. By noon, we will arrive at the unique Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi, entirely made of ice: its walls, floor, beds, and more, considered the world's first ice hotel. Don't worry, we won't sleep in the freezing cold of the hotel, but we'll enjoy a satisfying lunch and continue from there to our next stop. Overnight in the Kiruna area.
Day 3 | Winter Adventures in Kiruna Snowmobile Safari
This morning, we'll experience our first extreme adventure as part of our northern journey. In the morning hours, we'll head to the starting point for our snowmobile safari (2 riders per snowmobile). We'll receive special equipment and set out for a unique off-road snowmobile ride along the Torne River. From the main trail, we'll venture into various small trails inside and outside the snowy forests. When we reach one of the forest huts, we'll stop at the Sámi tent, where they reside during the cold winter months, and learn about their unique winter culture. After the activity, we'll continue to the Abisko area for overnight accommodation.
Day 4 | Husky Sledding - Snowshoeing - Ice Fishing in Abisko Area
Today, we'll dedicate the day to unforgettable activities in the Abisko area, the snowy and magnificent region of Swedish Lapland. The day's adventure will begin with dog sledding, where we'll get to know the northern dogs, assist in harnessing the sled dogs, and embark on a guided two-hour ride on sleds through the stunning snow of the area. We'll return for a lunch break in the Abisko area and prepare for the continuation of the activity. After a short rest, we'll set out for a snowshoeing tour in the abundant snow of the region, donning appropriate gear and engaging in a fascinating activity of ice fishing: we'll dig a small hole in the ice, bait with the baits provided by the local organizers, and hopefully catch fish in the cold waters. In the evening, after dinner, we'll head to the Aurora Sky Station - Svenska Turistföreningen, a special observation station considered one of the best places in the world to watch the Northern Lights. Overnight and dinner at the Abisko Mountain Lodge.
Day 5 | Another Adventure Day in Abisko Area
This morning will begin with a final snowmobile tour. After honing our off-road riding skills on snowmobiles, we'll embark on an intriguing tour of the area and return to the hotel tired but satisfied. After the activities, we'll leave Abisko and head towards the Norwegian border, where we began our adventure. Towards evening, we'll reach the Sortland area for overnight accommodation. Overnight and dinner in the Swartland area.
Day 6 | Lofoten Islands (Norway)
This morning, we'll leave the Abisko area and head west to Norway, where we started our unique winter journey. According to ferry schedules, we'll cross the Norwegian coast and reach the Lofoten Islands, rich in fjords, cliffs, and beautiful and breathtaking lakes, especially during the harsh winter period. We'll wander through the unique fishing villages characterized by colorful wooden houses, seemingly at peace on the shores of the busy fjords. We'll tour the picturesque villages Nusfjord and Sund, two picturesque villages that have been added to UNESCO's list of heritage sites due to their beauty and cultural significance. We'll continue and explore the islands as much as time and daylight allow and return overnight to the Årstad area. Overnight and dinner in the Årstad area.
Day 7 | Whale Watching
Another day of experiences awaits us – this morning, we'll leave Årstad and head to the boat dock for an unforgettable experience - whale watching. Hoping for successful weather conditions, we'll arrive at the Andenes marina and hear explanations about the large marine mammals living in the area and the unique winged creatures in the area. After a short coffee break, we'll board the boats and set out for an unforgettable search for the mighty orcas, one of the largest whale species in nature. They can reach up to 21 meters in length and weigh up to 57 tons. With luck on our side, we might even see other types of whales. After the boat trip, we'll return south to the Narvik area, where we began our journey.
