Day 1 I Northern Airport - Puerto de la Cruz
Upon arrival, we head to our accommodation for the next few days in the city of Puerto de la Cruz for lodging and dinner: Puerto de la Cruz is located impressively on the rugged coastline, a fishing port city, and a lively ancient center. On the hills surrounding it, there are residential neighborhoods adorned with numerous parks. Lodging and dinner in Puerto de la Cruz.
Day 2 I Between Shepherd Villages to Los Cristianos
This morning, we will travel to the southwestern corner of the island through a winding and beautiful route that passes through breathtaking viewpoints on the rugged coastline of the Atlantic Ocean. Along our way westward, we stop at picturesque villages where we learn about the unique movement technique in the rugged and steep terrain called "Salto del Pastor" - "Shepherd's Jump," which utilizes a pole to move from place to place. We also learn about the whistle communication technique, the Silbo, the unique communication method of mountain residents between the closed valleys in the high cliffs. In the afternoon, we will reach a fascinating hiking trail to a small village called Masca, situated in a stunning location on the edge of a deep and magnificent canyon. We continue driving through the serpentines to the town of Los Gigantes, located next to cliffs that plunge to over 800 meters above sea level. After hiking tours, we head to the town of Las Americas, from where we embark on an unforgettable boat trip with the Kamaram ferry facing the breathtaking cliffs, and if we're lucky, we might see jumping dolphins and maybe even the largest mammal in the world: the giant whale... Towards evening, we return to Puerto de la Cruz for lodging and dinner.
Day 3 I Sailing to Gomera Island
A long and fascinating day awaits us: this morning, we sail by ferry to the neighboring island, La Gomera, the mountainous island is actually a huge and wonderful nature reserve with ancient green laurel forests and a variety of endemic flora and fauna unique to the island. Around noon, we will reach the city considered the capital of the island, San Sebastian, from where Columbus set off on his first voyage of discovery to the New World: the American continent. After the sail, we will return to Tenerife Island for lodging and dinner in Puerto de la Cruz.
Day 4 I South of Tenerife - Teide Volcano
Today we set out to visit Teide National Park located in the heart of Tenerife Island. Teide Volcano is considered the highest mountain in Spain (3,718 m) and the third highest volcano in the world in relation to its base (the base is located thousands of meters below sea level). The unique mountain is covered with snow most of the year. We climb the mountain through dense Canarian pine forests and descend to the vast volcanic crater where the summit rises sharply with views of the desert landscapes reminiscent of the moon's surface. Later in the day, we ascend by cable car towards the summit and walk to a spectacular viewpoint at 3,600 meters above sea level. From there, you can overlook the entire chain of the Canary Islands. We continue on foot through the Caldera, where we observe a variety of impressive geological displays. After the fascinating visit, we cross the crater and descend on the other side of the mountain to the town of Puerto de la Cruz for lodging and dinner.
Day 5 I Puerto de la Cruz - La Laguna - San Andrés - Santa Cruz - Puerto de la Cruz
This morning we will leave Puerto de la Cruz, where we will return in the evening, and set out on a journey to La Laguna, the ancient capital of Tenerife, considered by many as one of the most beautiful in the archipelago. The city, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built by wealthy Spanish merchants who lived on the main trade route between Europe and Spain's new colonies in Latin America. We stroll through the picturesque streets, visit the hidden patio gardens, and crowded squares adorned with tropical vegetation and continue to the Anaga Ridge, which plunges into the sea with cliffs and canyons, and several hiking trails in the area. From here, we take the winding scenic route to the village of San Andres, located on the ocean shore, and take a tour of the capital of the island Santa Cruz de Tenerife. At the end of the tour, we return to our hotel in Puerto de la Cruz to welcome the Queen's Sabbath.
Day 6 I Puerto de la Cruz
We will spend the day in the picturesque town of Puerto de la Cruz, wandering around the hotel areas and resting before the continuation of our special journey.
Day 7 I Puerto de la Cruz - Guimar - Candelaria and Loro National Park
This morning, we will visit several fascinating sites: our first stop will be the Guimar site, a site that marks the lives and activities of the ancient inhabitants of the island who were destroyed by the Spanish conquerors, the Guanches. We will visit the unique "pyramids" left behind by the ancient residents of Tenerife. From here, we will continue to the town of Candelaria, where we will learn about the connection between the continents in ancient times. Near the local church, there are a series of statues of figures about four meters high representing the iconic figures of the ancient culture of the Guanches, the Guanches. After the tour, we will continue to visit Loro Park, an amazing tropical park where we will get to know the unique wildlife of the park. After a rich day of tours, we will return to the town of Puerto de la Cruz for lodging and dinner.
Day 8 I Puerto de la Cruz - Madrid
This morning, after breakfast and according to the flight time, we will enjoy the last moments on the special island. We will stroll through the city center of Puerto de la Cruz.
