Georgia, the beautiful country situated on the border between Europe and Asia, is a fascinating Caucasian gem: breathtaking natural landscapes, millennia-old culture and history, and a local encounter experience that seems almost vanished from the world. Our tour will begin in the capital city, Tbilisi, from where we'll ascend the military road to the Gudauri region, a magical alpine area offering various hiking trails. From there, we'll continue to the lush and abundant Khevsureti Valley, where we'll embark on beautiful hiking routes amidst the stunning blossom period.

Our Suggested Itinerary - Explore a past Aujo Travel trip for your next adventure
Day 1 | Tbilisi
We'll depart on a flight to the Georgian capital, Tbilisi. Upon arrival, we'll transfer to our hotel for accommodation.
Day 2 | Tbilisi - Military Highway - Gudauri
This morning, after breakfast at our hotel in Tbilisi, we'll head north along the Military Highway towards the picturesque town of Gudauri. Our first stop on this northern journey will be at the ancient Georgian capital of Mtskheta, where we'll visit Jvari Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering stunning views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. Continuing northward, we'll visit the closed village of Saguramo, where we'll explore wine cellars and taste exquisite wines. We'll also participate in a workshop on traditional Georgian cuisine, Khachapuri. Later, we'll stroll by Lake Jinvali and visit the 16th-century Ananuri Fortress. In the afternoon, we'll witness a remarkable natural phenomenon: the confluence of the Black and White Aragvi Rivers, before reaching the ski resort town of Gudauri, located at an altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level, for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 3 | Gudauri - Juta - Stepantsminda
This morning, we'll continue our journey along the military road. We'll first stop to admire the breathtaking view from the Friendship Arch Monument. Then, we'll explore the high Caucasus region and visit the mountain villages of Juta and Sno, where we'll meet the local residents and taste the mineral waters flowing from colorful rocks. We'll hike in the area on several footpaths and enjoy breathtaking views. After the hiking tours in the Juta and Sno areas, we'll descend from the mountain villages and continue our journey to another stunning mountainous area located at the foot of one of Georgia's most beautiful peaks, Kazbegi. The village, known locally as Stepantsminda, will host us for the night in one of its local houses, providing an authentic accommodation experience amidst the enchanting scenery.
Day 4 | Stepantsminda Area / Kazbegi
This morning, we'll ascend the mountains along the military road in the Stepantsminda area. Upon arrival in the village, we'll transfer to local vehicles and ascend to a marvelous viewpoint overlooking Mount Kazbegi, the third-highest peak in Georgia. At the summit, we'll join local off-road vehicles and descend to one of the local kitchens to learn the art of making Khinkali, one of Georgia's national dishes. After the culinary experience, we'll return to our off-road vehicles, which will take us close to the border with Russia for a short hike to Gveleti Waterfalls. After the unique off-road experience, we'll return to our village accommodation for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 5 | Gudauri - Tbilisi
This morning, we'll rise and depart for the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, with arrival: We'll ascend by local cable car to a stunning viewpoint over the city. Tbilisi, located on the banks of the Mtkvari River, offers the most beautiful view from the observation point. We'll continue our tour of the old city, starting with a view from Metekhi Church over the old town, walking through the historic quarter, and hearing the story of the Jewish community at the local synagogue, which is still active to this day. We'll also enter Zion Church, where, according to local belief, the original cross held by Saint Nino from Jerusalem was kept when she came to convert the Georgian people. From here, we'll move on to the local flea market, where you can buy Gramophones, old clocks, and even small statues of Stalin and Lenin. We'll cross the special glass bridge over the Mtkvari River, which separates the capital city from its institutions, and conclude with a farewell gala dinner combined with a typical Georgian folklore show.
